What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is a widely used sustainability ratings platform that assesses companies on their environmental, social, and ethical performance. Businesses complete a questionnaire and submit supporting evidence, which EcoVadis assessors score across four themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The result is a scorecard and a medal (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum) that companies can share with customers and partners as proof of their sustainability credentials.
Large buyers increasingly require their suppliers to hold an EcoVadis rating as a condition of doing business, which is why many companies — especially in supply chains for manufacturing, retail, and industrials — end up needing one whether or not sustainability was previously a priority for them.
